SÍM Residency warmly invites you to an Open House at Seljavegur 32, offering visitors the opportunity to experience the work of artists who have participated in the international SÍM Residency programme. The evening provides a chance to explore the artists’ work, meet them in person, and engage in conversation about their practices, ideas, and experiences during their time in Iceland.
The Open House brings together a diverse group of artists from different cultural, geographical, and creative backgrounds. Through the SÍM Residency programme, artists are given the opportunity to develop their practices within an international community in Reykjavík, fostering exchange and dialogue across disciplines, perspectives, and lived experiences.
The Open House presents a selection of works created by artists connected to the residency, offering an insight into the breadth and diversity of their artistic practices. Together, the works reflect a range of approaches, interests, materials, and perspectives shaped by each artist’s individual practice.
Beyond the works themselves, the Open House creates a space for meeting and exchange. Visitors are invited to speak directly with the artists, learn more about the ideas and experiences behind their work, and discover how their practices have developed through international exchange and time spent in Reykjavík.
The event offers a welcoming and informal opportunity to experience the SÍM Residency community and to gain a closer look at the artists and their work.
