IG group exhibition of SIM Residency December 2022

Have you heard of gluggaveður?

It starts to snow, and everything looks like a fairy tale! You get hypnotized looking out of the window and witnessing a sunny day, snow covering the ground ever so gently.

A word, that is literally translated as „window-weather“ manifests itself you into thinking it’s 25 degrees outside, when its best enjoyed indoors and actually unpleasant to be out in. You’ll encounter this a lot in Iceland and will probably need to find some activities to do indoors at times of this bad weather. Jæja.

Due to the Icelandic weather conditions, it was sadly not possible to make a physical exhibition this time at Korpúlfsstaðir hall, as the tradition has been. Artists, that had been working hard, found themselves in a forced situation of cancelling the event.

The solution was to create a IG group exhibition format at hand, that made it possible for them to still share their experiences and creative process in all kinds of stages! We hope, that you will enjoy!

SÍM Residency open studios is a project by guest artists staying at the facilities in Korpúlfsstaðir and Seljavegur. The works at the open studios will present the creative results, that the artists have been working on for the past month or longer. The artists come from all parts of the world and work in various mediums.
