Viltu hafa hljóð?
What is the shape of silence? Silence can be both a relief and a confrontation, ranging from contemplation to the heavy burden of forbidden speech. This project combines the internal geography of silence within the body with the vibrating landscapes of Iceland. It connects the psychological memory of being silenced with the hidden acoustics of the earth. In collaboration, Nicole Michalla and Colette Aliman, translate these concepts through dance and field recordings. The result forms the foundation of a joint sound and dance performance that explores how the human body reacts, enacts and interacts with the profound stillness of nature.
