Serenade of Water

As I found myself drawn by the blueness of the sky and the ocean in Iceland, words from activist Rebecca Solnit « blue is the color of longing for the distances you never arrive in » kept haunting me. These cyanotypes are made with sea water, snow, ice, homemade salt crystals : a way to hold on paper meteorological phenomenas linked to the cycle of oceans that are facing changes due to global warming. The prints have been exposed under sunlight between minutes and days, depending on the ever-changing weather then toned with local hot water that contains sulfur.
