Music is time, and time is light. I painted watercolor scores for ‘transparent Music,’ my live set for theremin and various elements, including water and light. The medium, a natural resin, transformed the Japanese paper as if recalling it to the spectrality and transparency of air, water, and light. My research is experimental and concerns the elusive aspects of perception and notation. The interpretation of these scores will consist of a vibrant painting of sound and light played through the air via an interface that I will design.
