The girl I sat next to on the plane here told me that Iceland looked like another planet. The grey-green moss that covers the landscape, the large jutting rock formations, the blankets of clouds and ash covering the atmosphere. And the more I explored, the more I felt what she meant.
I wanted my project to give the feeling of crash landing on an alien planet. PLANET ISLAND is a mix of 6 instrumentals using sounds recorded in Iceland. I limited myself to only sourcing my recordings from my iPhone 6, and photos from phones of my fellow residents at SIM.
