Using weaving, I explored visual architectural moments throughout Reykjavik relating to physical deterioration and the passage of time. I searched for objects relating to time and history, including gravestones, clocks, and decaying architecture. I recorded each visual moment with photography and sketches, creating swatches of fabric to represent each moment, and mimicking textures with different textile techniques. I then assembled these separate pieces into one large collage, finding textural connections within each swatch and integrating them to create a new interconnected landscape. The resulting work is an amorphous, ever-growing object that connects together many different moments in time.
