Flâneuse in Reykjavík

"Flâneuse in Reykjavík" is an artistic exploration that weaves together the experiences of a wandering woman, inspired by the Icelandic saying, "Glöggt er gests augad," which emphasizes the fresh perspective a guest can bring. Capturing the spirit of dérive, the flâneuse traverses Reykjavík's urban landscape, intimately observing and engaging with her surroundings. The project encompasses various art forms, including a crochet blanket that translates walking data into a tangible textile, evocative postcards, and photographs that create vicarious experiences for the audience. This immersive collection invites viewers to explore Reykjavík through the perceptive lens of a guest, connecting them to the city's enchanting beauty and mystique.
