Rhythms

‘Rhythms’ was an exhibition held at Flædí featuring new work by Kati Gausmann and Miranda Blennerhassett. Our practices are united by an interest in time, repetition and rhythm, and are also characterised by movement: as a theme and as an essential moment of execution. While Miranda’s work explores the democratic sharing of ornament and the intimate timescale of domestic craft-making, Kati works with geological processes and the human relation to them in time and space. The exhibition consisted of paper works which relate to traditional Icelandic embroidery patterns (Íslensk Sjónabók), as well as to stony traces shaped by geological processes.
