The glacier is Powerade blue

SÍM March

I am working on a video essay and installation work about fragile ecosystems in humans and nature. Discussing themes of slowness, recovery, and a removed relationship with nature, the work entwines natural phenomena with mental and neurological coping. The extremes of Icelandic nature, crip theory, societal expectations of productivity, and aesthetics of fastness inspire the work-in-progress.

An early draft of it was exhibited at SIM Korpulfsstadir in January 2023 as "The glacier is Powerade blue". I spent the residency gathering more material for this work and installing my works in the Uncanny Virtuality exhibition at Hafnarborg – Hafnarfjörður Centre of Culture and Fine Art.
